		<description>That&#039;s unfortunate about the 70-200, as that&#039;s one of the corner-stones of Canons L lenses, although that would be the f/4 and not IS.
Speaking of which, am thinking of getting one.</description>

		<description>I&#039;m inclined to agree with S Clark above. I bought two lenses this year, a 24-105mm L IS - definitely soft - and the 70-200 F4 L IS - amazingly sharp (you could cut your fingers on the hair on the head on portraits). The 24-105 goes back this week for calibration, but I wonder if Canon really care as the majority of users would now if their lens was soft or not.</description>

I returned the lens for a refund and am giving up new Canon equipment until they can hopefully do something about their terrible quality control. I have had to send in all my Canon DSLRs multiple times to get focus problems fixed and my small P&amp;S Canon broke in a few months and had to go in.</description>
